Emerging Young Entrepreneurs Program Launches in Cowichan
The Emerging Young Entrepreneurs Program is 10 months long, delivered in two phases. Phase One (16 weeks) provides weekly learning sessions on a variety of topics, such as financing/microloans, social media strategies, and legal questions. Participants then move into Phase Two, which is more self-directed; they are connected to peer-mentoring groups, have access to both shared co-working office space and an online hub; and are supported to create a crowd-funding program.
Young entrepreneurs are creating and developing new ideas every day. They want to create businesses and organizations that will address social needs plus generate wealth, jobs, and knowledge. The Emerging Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) program will focus young people to use their own knowledge and abilities, and combine those with business training and mentors to set them up for success.
The Program is taking applications from young adults living in the Cowichan area, who have a business idea and the motivation to pursue it. There are 10 spots available at no-cost. Deadline to apply is September 29th. Program Launch is October 17th.
