Someone who recognizes instinctively the exciting potential of creating added value through new products, new markets, new partnerships or new ideas. These people make things happen. A healthy economy isn't just about jobs. It's about people working together for a secure future, working on projects designed to strengthen our overall economy and improve our overall quality of life. We play an active role in community economic development by sponsoring or partnering in a number of initiatives in different sectors.  

Founded in 1989, Community Futures Cowichan is a community-based and volunteer-driven organization. We have approved more than 600 business loans, injecting over $17 million into the local economy; provided business consultation and support to thousands of clients; and helped our clients create or maintain over 1200 full-time and 700 part-time jobs. Our mission is to work with partners to achieve a diverse and vibrant community by supporting the community in seeking and seizing new opportunities; providing leadership in the development and growth of thriving ventures; and promoting an entrepreneurial spirit and serving as a catalyst for leadership and opportunity development.
